(He had written the detail on the capacitor but also taken photos). It is so easy to assume that hot tubs will run forever without attention but in my experience prevention by service is very worthwhile. Our hot tub is on a holiday rental and the water changed regularly with a risk of problems if the right procedures are not taken (turning the heater on without water around heating element). Alan sorted this out a few months ago. Before this, a pump was leaking water.
