For those of you who would like to do spa maintenance services but are not sure what to do to maintain your spa, maybe this will help.

To make sure that your water is in good quality you should follow these steps. On day 1 you will need to test the pH, alkalinity and sanitizer by using Qwik-Dip test strips. If the alkalinity is not within the 100 – 150 ppm range, adjust it using 1 ounce of pH/Alkalinity Down or Up at a time. Then you should retest for pH if you adjusted alkalinity. If the pH is not in the 7.2 – 7.8 range, you need to add pH/Alkalinity Down or Up 1/2 ounce at a time to bring it within the desired range.

Next, adjust the sanitizer level by adding some sanitizer or adjust the bromine feeder to maintain 3.0 – 5.0 ppm free bromine or chlorine. Once that is done, add 2 ounces of Spa Bright. You need to allow your hot tub to circulate for 30 minutes after you add the chemicals.

On day three, you need to perform the steps 1 through 4 from Day One. Then add 2 ounces of Stain & Scale Defense for every 500 gallons. After that, allow your hot tub to circulate for 30 minutes after you add the chemicals.

On day five, you will do the same steps performed on day three except for the Stain & Scale and you will also check and clean your filter. So if you would like to keep your water quality to where it needs to be, you should follow the above instructions weekly.
